We do not require any specific color helmet, white or athletic gold would be our preference. you usually can find a used helmet at Play it again sports for around $30-$50
While these can be found at play it again sports, they will need to be the new nocsae approved version that helps prevent commtio corditus
( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commotio_cordis )
They should have a small symbol like the picture above.
If you can find them used (I have a few times) or money isn’t a problem the stx cell V are great. They offer great protection and comfort
No special colors are requested, please make sure they fit well. At the younger ages any lacrosse glove will do. As they get older I would opt for gloves that offer a bit more protection. These can also be purchased for around $20 at play it again.
The stx cell V are one of my favorites, they can be pricey but you can find them used
No specific brand or color here either. Just like gloves; any will do while they are younger but I would opt for good protection as they get older. They can also be found pretty cheap at play it again sports
Any color, brand, or style is okay (no metal spikes)
They do make some lacrosse specific cleats that are great. I would opt for mid or low tops due to the amount of running they do.
No specific brands are needed. My boys preferred Sisu for comfort and they can still talk properly, but they are EASY to lose.
The only stipulation is try not to opt for white or clear unless it’s attached to the helmet as they can’t be seen by the refs and they will stop plays.
The lacrosse stick is the only piece of equipment I recommend to either buy new or make sure the pocket (mesh) is suited to your son’s needs. They have some really cheap options and those WILL not perform well!
if you are new to lacrosse I recommend buying a String king JR or SR
they throw reasonably well right off the shelf.
There are a few great brands of sticks to choose from but make sure this isn’t the piece of equipment to skimp on.
ECD, stx also have some great options, but for the young players the String king Jr has a thinner shaft that is easier to grasp.
